TRASFER OF LEARNING In sport, transfer of learning is generally defined as the influence of previous experience of performing a skill on the learning of a new skill or on performance of the same skill in a new context. This influence may be positive or negative. TYPES OF TRASFER LEARNING ✓™ Positive Transfer: When one skill helps or enhances the learning and performance of another skill E.g the skill of throwing transfers positively to the racquet arm action of a tennis serve. ✓ ™Negative Transfer: When one skill hinders or impedes the leaning and performance of another skill.
